What happens after launch pricing ends?
Your price stays locked — for as long as your subscription runs you keep paying the launch price you signed up at. New members from that day pay the list price shown crossed out above. That crossed-out number is our real price, not a made-up “was”.
What is the crossed-out price?
It is our list price — what this plan costs the day the launch offer ends. We are not comparing ourselves with somebody else's product, and we are not pretending our price was ever higher than it was.
Does it renew on its own?
Yes, and we email you before it does. One click in Plan & Billing turns renewal off and you keep everything until the day you have paid for.
Can I change or cancel my plan later?
Yes. One click in Plan & Billing changes or cancels it, and you keep everything you have paid for until the day your year ends. Our full terms are on the refund policy page.

What our pricing actually pays for
Our pricing is unusual for a gardening site, so it is worth explaining plainly. Almost everything here is free, and it stays free.
Every growing guide, the 42,000+ species database, and the free gardening tools cost you nothing. No account, no trial clock, no feature held hostage.
That is not generosity. Those tools run in your browser or on our own server, so serving one more gardener costs us essentially nothing.
Two features are different, and both for the same reason. Photo-based disease diagnosis sends your image to a paid AI service, and the written Plant Doctor chat sends your question to one. We are charged every single time. Those are the only two places real money leaves our account when you click, which is why they are the only two with a limit on them.
Both still start free. The chat gives everyone a set number of questions a day and a monthly allowance with a free account; the paid plans below exist for gardeners who want a bigger allowance or a more detailed answer.

Credits exist for people who need a burst of scans without a yearly plan. They do not expire monthly and are spent one per scan.
If a scan fails on our side, the credit is refunded automatically. You can see every scan, purchase and refund in your account.
How renewal works, in plain words
A membership runs for one year from the day you buy it, and it is set to renew at the end of that year so your ad-free reading does not stop without warning.
Nothing about that is hidden. We email you 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before the renewal date, every time. Turning it off takes one click in your account, and you keep the rest of the year you already paid for. Renewing extends your existing expiry date rather than starting a second overlapping term.
No trial ever converts into a charge behind your back. If a card trial is offered and you start one, the first email states the exact amount and the exact date, a reminder follows before the charge lands, and one click cancels it — otherwise there is nothing to watch, because you either bought a year or you did not. There is also no feature that works until you are invested and then locks. What is free today was free last year and will be free next year.
The one honest caveat: if the paid AI service we use raises its own rates, scan allowances may change. We would say so on this page rather than quietly shrinking them.
Payment, currency and what we store
Payment is handled by established gateways, not by us. Card and wallet details never reach our server, and we could not store them if we wanted to.
Indian customers can pay in rupees through UPI, Google Pay, PhonePe or card. Everyone else pays in their local card currency.
What we do keep is minimal: your plan status, expiry date, credit balance and a purchase history. That is what the billing tab in your account shows you.

How the site pays for itself
Since most of this is free, the obvious question is how it survives. Three ways, and none of them is your data.
- Advertising on article pages, kept out of the tools themselves.
- Affiliate links to garden suppliers. If you buy through one, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and every such link is marked.
- Pro plans and credits, which cover the AI scanning costs.
We do not sell personal data to anyone, which is a low bar but one plenty of sites fail. The affiliate disclosure explains the commercial side in full.
That is the whole pricing model. No hidden tier, no data sale, and no plan that quietly becomes necessary later.
