Buying Guide

A buying guide only earns its place if it tells you what to skip. The guides collected here compare garden tools, seeds, composts, pots, feeders and equipment on the handful of specifications that change how they perform in real use — steel grade and tang construction on a spade, blade hardness and replaceability on secateurs, germination rate and packet date on seed, actual litres rather than headline litres on compost. Each guide sets out the decision first: what job you are buying for, what size or capacity that job needs, and where a cheaper option is genuinely fine. Prices move constantly and vary by country, so these pages avoid quoting figures that go stale; they focus on the durable parts of the decision instead. Where a product suits Indian conditions differently from UK or US ones — monsoon rust, hard water, intense summer sun on plastic — that difference is called out rather than glossed over.
